Your semester project is to assume the mantle of Secretary of State to President Barack Obama.  The President has asked you to propose policy for U. S. involvement in the Middle East Conflict.  Your proposal will include history and background on the conflict, as well as suggestions for American involvement.   You must be prepared defend your proposal with the facts you glean from your research.
